1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of wedding celebrant services by Kosta Savva Destination Wedding Celebrant (“the Celebrant”) to the client(s) (“the Couple”). By booking the Celebrant’s services, the Couple agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece.

2. Services Provided

The Celebrant provides symbolic, non-religious, vow renewal, commitment, and bespoke wedding ceremony services throughout Greece, including islands and mainland destinations.

Services may include:

  • Initial consultations

  • Ceremony planning and preparation

  • Drafting and personalising ceremony scripts

  • Assistance with vows and readings

  • Conducting the ceremony on the wedding day

  • Coordination with planners and vendors regarding ceremony logistics

Unless expressly agreed in writing, the Celebrant does not provide legal marriage registration services or act as a legal registrar under Greek law.

3. Booking and Deposit

A booking is confirmed only when:

  1. The Couple accepts the quotation or proposal in writing; and

  2. A non-refundable booking deposit of 20% is paid.

Dates are not reserved until the deposit has been received.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the ceremony date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Travel and Accommodation

The Celebrant provides services throughout Greece. For ceremonies outside the Celebrant’s local area, additional travel and accommodation costs may apply.

Where applicable, the Couple agrees to cover:

  • Ferry tickets

  • Flights

  • Ground transportation

  • Accommodation

  • Parking or tolls

Travel arrangements may be organised by either the Couple or the Celebrant, as agreed in advance.

If accommodation is required, it should be:

  • Private room accommodation; and

  • Located reasonably close to the ceremony venue.

5. Ceremony Details and Cooperation

The Couple agrees to provide all necessary information, preferences, and requested materials within reasonable timeframes.

The Celebrant will make reasonable efforts to accommodate ceremony preferences but reserves the right to decline:

  • Offensive, discriminatory, unlawful, or unsafe content

  • Requests that conflict with professional standards

  • Last-minute changes that are impractical or unreasonable

The Couple is responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions from venues and ensuring compliance with local laws and venue regulations.

6. Symbolic Ceremony Disclaimer

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, ceremonies conducted by the Celebrant are symbolic only and do not create a legally binding marriage under Greek law.

The Couple is solely responsible for arranging any legal marriage formalities with the appropriate Greek authorities or their home country authorities.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

By the Couple

  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.

  • If cancellation occurs less than 90 days before the ceremony date, up to 100% of the remaining balance is payable.

  • Any non-recoverable travel or accommodation costs already incurred must also be reimbursed.

Rescheduling

The Celebrant will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a new date, subject to availability.

If the new date is unavailable, the cancellation terms apply.

Additional fees may apply where rescheduling results in increased travel or administrative costs.

8. Cancellation by the Celebrant

In the unlikely event the Celebrant is unable to perform the ceremony due to illness, emergency, force majeure, or circumstances beyond reasonable control, the Celebrant will:

  • Notify the Couple as soon as reasonably possible;

  • Make reasonable efforts to assist in finding a replacement celebrant; and

  • Refund any payments received, excluding unrecoverable expenses already incurred where permitted by law.

The Celebrant’s liability shall be limited to the total fees paid by the Couple.

9. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Severe weather

  • Natural disasters

  • Ferry or flight cancellations

  • Strikes

  • Government restrictions

  • Epidemics or pandemics

  • Civil unrest

Where possible, both parties will cooperate in good faith to reschedule the ceremony.

10. Photography and Promotional Use

Unless the Couple objects in writing before the ceremony, the Celebrant may use photographs, videos, testimonials, or excerpts of the ceremony script for portfolio, website, and social media purposes.

The Couple may withdraw consent for identifiable images at any time before publication.

11. Intellectual Property

All ceremony scripts, written materials, and custom content created by the Celebrant remain the intellectual property of the Celebrant.

The Couple receives a personal, non-commercial licence to use the ceremony materials for their wedding only.

Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or commercially used without written permission.

12. Liability

The Celebrant shall not be liable for:

  • Delays caused by third parties

  • Venue issues

  • Technical failures outside the Celebrant’s control

  • Weather-related disruption

  • Actions of guests or suppliers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Celebrant’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited under applicable law.

13. Data Protection and Privacy

The Celebrant will process personal information in accordance with applicable Greek and European Union data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Personal information will be used solely for purposes connected with the provision of wedding celebrant services.
